  A Sisterhood of Temples
In creating a Calendar for Per Ankh and the Kemetic Traditional Religion (KTR), our Priests consulted professional astronomers, various scholarly texts, and scholars to understand not only what the temple calendars looked like and how they were calculated but also why and what role these played within the Ancient Egyptian Culture, Mythology and, in particular, the Temple Rites.

In addition, we considered methods of religious studies and theology in deciding how to apply these insights to our modern times. Most importantly, as religious believers, we consulted Netjer throughout this process for both suggestions and for approval of the calendar established for their service and for their children in the modern world.

We present a calendar that is a reflection of all these dialogues, both human and divine, which is subject to change as we continue to learn and to grow.

It is, for our practitioners, a religious document divinely inspired, in addition to being well researched. Not all who use the calendar will care or want to hear the details of the process from which it evolved or the documentation of this process. However, for the sake of those who are interested this article, we will explain the creation of document and the religious decisions and choices which went into its creation. (This article will soon be up!)

Only the calendar here is being presented. Members of Per Ankh will receive monthly newsletters on how to celebrate these festivals, what they meant to the Ancient Egyptians, and what these rituals mean to us today. If you would like to join Per Ankh, please Membership Page for more information.

We will be updating this calendar on a yearly basis, as the festival dates might change from year to year.
