Membership Requirements

Because there are different types of membership, there are different requirements for each. However, there are some basic core requirements for all types of membership.

  1. Groups or individuals must agree with the basic definition of the Kemetic religion as defined by Per Ankh.

  2. Groups or individuals must agree to subscribe to the Code of Ethics as defined by the Per Ankh By-Laws.

    For Individuals Persons

  3. Individuals must:

    • For Affiliate Membership: fill out a simple application. It is recommended that new Affiliates take the New Members Class.

    • For Congregant Membership: become an Affiliate, take the New members Class, speak to a member of the Per Ankh clergy, and fill out a simple application.

    • For Shemsu Membership: have committed to and been initiated into the traditional religion of Ancient Egypt.

    For Groups

  4. Groups must show some standard of education and priesthood that is equivalent to Per Ankh.

    • Groups not meeting the equivalency of education must take the Per Ankh curriculum in order to achieve Full Membership status or remain an Associate Member.

    • Groups wishing Full Membership status must meet all requirements and be a Probationary Member for one year prior to Full Membership.

  5. Group members (not individual members) must pay a non-refundable fee to Per Ankh

  6. Any member (group or individual) who wish to terminate their membership with Per Ankh can do so at any time.

      For Individual Members:

    • Affiliate Members need only to simply write a letter to Per Ankh explaining that they wish to terminate their membership and their reasons.

    • Because Shemsu Members have committed themselves to the Kemetic faith, and have been initiated into the religion, they must write a letter of termination to Per Ankh as well as have a conversation with one of the Per Ankh clergy.

For Shemsu Members who have been ordained, it is highly recommended that a ritual be performed to cleanly break the temple and person relationship and to wish the person well on their spiritual journey.

      For Group Members:
Group temple members must fill out a termination form. Any fees paid to Per Ankh by group members are not refundable.
